This "I am Texas" project is a reminder that Texas is a state of vast origin stories and that what it means to be a Texan is not defined by any one race, one religion, or one nationality. It is defined by a shared commitment to hard work, resilience, adventure, kindness, and a sense of independence. This project features portraits of people from all over the state, each with their own unique story. Some are recent immigrants, while others have been in Texas for generations. We come from all over the world, speaking different languages and practicing different religions. Despite our differences, we share one thing in common: we all call Texas home. We are all Texans, and we all have a story to tell about what it means to be a Texan.
